Your call may be recorded

Typical automated answering services tell us that out call may be recorded for our benefit (or quality reasons).

What the hell for?

  • So Herc, is it a "may" or "will" be recorded? I personally hear them saying "In case you are wrong, beliggerent, abusive or just plain rude ... your call may be recorded for quality purposes!"

If the purpose is so on our side, why don't they tell us what the benefit is and how we can use it?

  • Has anyone of us experienced this benefit? Damn right it is obvious Mike that they tell us it's for our benefit ... but so far we're assuming that the benefit is that we can request the recording for our complaint, or whatever. We're also assuming that the uses Herc tells us they use the recording for are what they're used for. So again, has anyone reading this blog taken up their offer to discover the benefit of the recording?
