So what's a blog?
Dictionary.com defines a blog as "an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page..." I prefer to define blogs as safe forums for discussion, sharing of information and networking. If you want to read (a whole lot) more about blogs, check out Wikipedia's variety of information on the subject. I will be posting more info about blogs, blogging and the Blogosphere in the future, so don't feel intimidated if you aren't entirely sure what we're talking about.
Welcome to "idle banter". We hope this blog will become a forum for open discussion amongst our young adults community. We're keen to make it a place where we can wrestle with topical issues, share news, tell stories, rant, rave, encourage and pool resources. It will offer us the opportunity to connect with each other on a daily basis, away from the church.
In order to post comments to an entry, you will need to create a Blogger account for yourself. This is a very simple process, and best of all, it's free. In any case, Blogger will prompt you to create an account when you opt to post a comment. Just a hint - Blogger will offer you the opportunity to create your own blog once you've created a new account. If you do not intend to start a whole new blog yourself, but just want access to this blog, stop the process at that point. Your account will have been created but you won't be obliged to start your own blog. If you still struggle, email me and I will guide you through the process.
If you want to see some great blogs in action, check out some of my favourites: TomorrowToday.biz, Keo - the Home of SA Rugby Fans, FutureChurch.
Happy blogging!
